'UK JUNK FOOD ADS BAN EXPLAINED! A ban on junk food TV Ads before the 9pm will come into force at the end of 2022. As a result, Brands will be barred from advertising products high in fat, salt and sugar.  There are some exemptions to the UK Junk Food Ads Ban. Some foods high in fat or sugar will be spared from the UK junk food ads ban, including olive oil, honey, avocados, and Marmite. And small businesses with fewer than 250 employees will be exempt from the UK junk food ban.  The UK Junk Food Ads Ban is part of Boris Johnson\'s efforts to tackle obesity. As NHS research showing that almost two-thirds of adults in England are overweight or obese.  The UK Junk Food Ads Ban is likely to have a big impact on the £600 million spent annually by brands on food ads. The government estimates broadcasters will lose about £66.3m a year in advertising revenue as a result of the restrictions. Whilst online platforms will miss out on £178m.
