'We\'re in the state of Michoacan, Mexico a state which is synonymous with carnitas, avocados and a strong indigenous food culture. We travel from Morelia to Patzcuaro a colonial town by the picturesque Lake Patzcuaro. We\'re here to eat our way around Patzcuaro and to try some food of the Purepecha culture. Along the way we find a local staple of corundas, mouthwatering tacos and sample Patzcuaro\'s famous nieves flavour- pasta! We hope you enjoy this Michoacan street food tour. What we ate and where we ate it: 1. Corundas at the stalls outside Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Salud, Benigno Serrato S/N, Centro, 61600 Pátzcuaro, Mich. 2. Charalitos by Lake Patzcuaro. In order to get down to the lake catch a collectivo from (Plaza Chica) Plaza Gertrudis Bocanegra, Portal Benito Juárez, Centro, 61600 Pátzcuaro, Mich. The collectivo will have \'LAGO\' written on the side and will cost $9MXN. 3. The place that was closed which we wanted to eat indigenous food is Restaurante La tradicion de Apatzingan, Arciga 18, Centro, 61600 Pátzcuaro, Mich. 4. Tacos de chorizo and tacos de tripa at Tacos Nacho, Mercado Publico Municipal, Ejido Pátzcuaro, 61600 Pátzcuaro, Michoacán. 5. Nieves de Pasta and nieves de chongos at Neveria la Pacanda, 61600, Portal de Hidalgo s/n, Centro, 61600 Pátzcuaro, Mich. Open 9:00am to 8:30pm daily. Travelling from Morelia? Catch a blue and white bus to Xangari (the stops are written on the side or front windscreen of the buses). When you\'re dropped off at Xangari walk about 50 metres down the road (same side of the road) where you will see a Purepechas bus (creamy yellow and orange coloured with Purepechas written on the side ) parked and waiting for passengers going to Patzcuaro. The return fare is $96MXN per person.
