'How to make the dreaded purple fondant! Easy and mess-free! LMF recipe: https://sugargeekshow.com/recipe/lmf-fondant-recipe/ Purple LMF Recipe • 2 lbs sifted powdered sugar • 1 lb mini-marshmallows (hy-top, Walmart brand or Haribo brand if you can find it. Jet Puff, kraft or marshmallow fluff will not work) Make sure your bag says 1 lb or weigh out 1 full lb from two bags • 1 Tablespoons water • 1 tsp electric pink food coloring • 1 tsp electric purple food coloring • 2 tsp regal purple food coloring (optional 1 tsp black food color for a darker purple) • 1/2 cup Shortening (or trex) • 1.25 lbs of Wilton fondant or any other brand pre-made fondant (if you buy the 5 lb box, use one half of one of the packages, if you buy the 1.5 lb box, use the whole package) • Extra powdered sugar for kneading Melt marshmallows for one minute and then 30 second intervals until completely melted, stir in between heating. Place shortening in the bowl of the stand mixer with hook attachment Add water to the marshmallows and pour over the shortening Add 3/4 of the bag of powdered sugar and mix on low Add in your food coloring and let mix until combined Add in a little more powdered sugar to release from the bowl, it may be crumbly. If it is too dry add a tsp of water. If it\'s still very sticky add in a little more powdered sugar. Heat your Wilton or other store brand fondant in the microwave until very warm and add to the mixture. The white does not affect the color. Pull like taffy until nice and stretchy, then store for up to three months in a ziplock bag at room temperature. Always re-heat and pull like taffy until smooth before each use for optimum results.'
