'If you compare a NorthIndian thali with a South Indian thali or a veg thali with a nonveg one, they seem quite different. But actually, they are very similar because the food is derived from only two sources.  Plants --- dal, cereals, vegetables, fruits, oilseeds Animals – milk, curd, paneer, meat, eggs, fish.  Parts of Plants eaten as food  1.Leaves –spinach  2. Stem—sajina  3.Roots –Turnips  4.Flowers –Caulifower  5, Fruit –Pumpkin  6.Seeds—mustard seeds    Animals eat plants e.g. Cows, goats, sheep, camel, etc  Some animals eat other animals e.g. lion, tiger, cat, dog  Those who eat only plants are called HERBIVORES.  Those who eat animals only are called CARNIVORES.  Those who eat both animals and plants are OMNIVORES.
