'Malaysia\'s most popular crocodile-alligator sanctuary. Combining a wildlife sanctuary with an educational centre and live-show venue, this 20 acre-wide facility is a great place to learn more about crocodiles and watch them perform in thrilling live shows. Housing more than 4,000 specimens of crocodiles including the Siamese, the Guinea, and the Tomistoma crocodiles, this sanctuary\'s residents are mostly saltwater crocodiles of various sizes and ferocity. Crocodile Adventureland Langkawi, behold Bujang Lang (italics): the sanctuary\'s largest freshwater crocodile weighing over more than 1,000kg, and easily the most fearsome creature of all here. If your main concern is safety visiting this sanctuary, especially with its residents being reputable man-killers, don\'t worry! Each crocodile enclosure divides the crocodiles according to age: the Juvenile Crocodile Pond encloses the younger crocodiles aged 2 to 3 years old, while the older crocodiles are enclosed in larger ponds surrounded by wire metal fences, where they languidly sunbathe and occasionally snap at their fellow reptiles. You can also take pictures with these crocodiles, accompanied by staff. For something more educational, visit the Crocodile Education Centre where you can learn more about crocodile species, behaviours, and conservation efforts. Crocodile Adventureland Langkawi is situated in Teluk Datau, and is a 30-minute drive (16km) away from Langkawi Airport. Recommended transport options include a rental car or an island taxi, as public transportations are extremely limited. For a more affordable option, book a timed taxi with a fixed fare. You can haggle with the driver, but make sure to reach an agreement about the fare before getting into the car. Wear comfortable outfits, wide-brimmed hats, and non slip shoes when visiting Crocodile Adventureland Langkawi. Consider wearing a surgical a mask in case the smell is too much for you. Adults should accompany children under 12 years old due to safety reasons. Wear sunscreen and bring mosquito repellent. If you are hungry, the on-site Croc Café serves burgers, ice cream, coffee, toast, and local delights like nasi lemak.
