'In El Salvador the community of Valle Nuevo and appropriate tech workshop participants built an evaporative refrigeration system. This video explores different aspects of such a cooler. It is important to note that with climate change, most of the globe is warmer and the atmosphere is able to hold much more evaporated moisture in suspension. Evaporative cooling becomes more effective. Water catchment of rain becomes critical in many areas such as where glaciers are melting and are the only source of drinking water. Moisture from the drying Amazon dumps killing hail in the Andes. There is a video of a 2003 hail storm over La Paz, Bolivia that killed 30 people. La Paz had never seen hail before.
