'Making an apple pie from homemade freeze dried apple pie filling. Rehydrating some more apple pie filling that we had freeze dried almost 2 years ago and making an apple pie. The mini pies we made a couple days earlier for our rehydration test worked so well, we decided to make a full size pie with the rest of the freeze dried pie filling we had. We had made and frozen the pie filling a couple years before we bought the Harvest Right freeze dryer and freeze dried it. We have started putting our videos up at https://rumble.com/user/SchoolReports Apple Filling for Crisp or Pie & Crisp Topping Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 10 cups apple slices -- sliced firm cooking apple 1/2 cup brown sugar 3 tablespoons flour 1 teaspoon cinnamon dash nutmeg 1 cup butter -- cold 1 1/4 cups flour 1 1/4 cups sugar 1 cup rolled oats 1 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 cup brown sugar Apple filling: Mix the first 5 ingredients together and pack firmly in the baking pan(s).
