'Atho is a famous street food of chennai originally from burma. Here is the simple version of vegetable atho and Egg bejo. #dosakada #homecooking #athorecipe _______________________________________________ RECIPE DETAILS INGREDIENTS - Dry noodles - 500 gms - onion - 2 ( sliced thinly) - cabbage - 1 cup - garlic - 10 pods - chilli flakes - 2 tbsp - coriander leaves - 1/2 cup - tamarind water - 1/2 cup - salt water - oil( used for onion and garlic ,to fry) - red food color(optional) - Crackers ( bejo crackers/ rice or wheat crackers / tortilla chips) - hard boiled egg- 3 to 4 PROCEDURE - Add oil, salt, food color in boiling water and cook noodles ( see the intructions in the pack for cooking time / time varies for each noodles) - Once cooked , strain it and rinse with water , add oil and mix gently. - Now fry garlic and onion until it turns dark brown color MIXING NOODLES - ATHO noodles is nothing but mixing all ingredients together as per your taste. there is no specific rules like tbsp measurements. - Start adding noodles in a large mixing bowl , then cabbage , raw sliced onion , fried items , tamarind water, oil, chilli flakes, salt water , coriander leaves, gram flour(it absorbs moisture from all other ingredients ) and crackers finally. taste it and add items more as per your taste buds BEJO egg is yet another good combination to go well with Atho and can also be eaten separately. - Just stuff all the same into the egg and eat it ..
