'#StreetFood #MumbaiStreetFood #GourmetOnTheRoad  Nothing quite like Maharashtrian street fare and Food Lovers’ Editor, Kripal Amanna who spent his early in the city of Mumbai absolutely agrees!  In this Gourmet On The Road episode, he visits Rajvardhan Foods, to take a trip back to Mumbai, tasting an authentic Vada Pav, spicy Misal Pav, Poori Bhaji with some lusciously thick shrikhand and some upvaas chi faraal or fasting foods such as Thalipeeth and Sabudana Vada.   GOURMET ON THE ROAD RATING  VADA PAV The pav is perfect in its taste and texture. the plump batata vada, with a thin casing is stuffed with an appetising potato mix. The garlic chutney and customary fried chilli makes every bite an explosion of flavours!  Rs 35 8.5/10  KUTCHI DABELI  a riot of flavours and textures. sweet, spicy, tangy potato patty, topped with the crunch of peanuts and fruity pop of the pomegranate seeds. the pav is toasted to perfect scrumptiousness. the fried sev adds another layer of texture.  Rs 50 7/10  KANDA POHA maharashtrian breakfast special made with beaten rice. tempered with onions, mustard, chilli, peanuts and topped with generous amounts of sev. a very simple flavoured dish that needs that twist of lemon to amp up flavours. the thick, slightly sweet yoghurt with the poha is delicious!  Rs 65 7/10  SHRIKHAND POORI BHAJI  fluffy pooris but the bhaji is a little low on flavour. best way to savour this is with the lusciously thick, sweet, cardamom flavoured shrikhand. Rs 115 7/10  KOLHAPURI MISAL PAV spicy rassa cooked with moth beans and topped with crunchy sev and mixture. a hearty dish to be enjoyed with the pav. the lemon helps tone down the heat.  Rs 90 7.5/10  SABUDANA KHICHDI a wholesome dish prepared with minimal fuss. Simply seasoned with flecks of chilli and ajwain seeds. Rs 90 8/10  SABUDANA VADA crunchy outside and soft inside. generous flecks of green chilli. minimally seasoned. enjoy this with mint chutney. Rs 55 8.5/10  ONION THALIPEETH the almost burnt onions gives this filling pancakes a strong onion-y flavour and bite.  Rs 90 7/10  UPVAAS THAALIPEETH made with tapioca flour and rajgira this is a high on nutrition pancake. it’s slightly dry. the butter and the sweet and bitter lemon pickle helps add flavour to this fasting snack. Rs 95 6.5/10  CHAAS/ MASALA BUTTERMILK just the drink you need to help you settle your stomach after eating all the spicy street fare served here!
