'Seafood City is a supermarket chain that was founded in 1989 by a group of Filipino entrepreneurs in San Diego, California. The first store was originally called Price Mart, but it was later rebranded as Seafood City in 1991 to better reflect its focus on fresh seafood and Filipino products. The success of the San Diego store led to the opening of additional Seafood City locations in other parts of California, as well as in other states across the United States, such as Nevada, Washington, Texas, and Hawaii.
