'I went to Staten Island, New York to try Filipino food for the first time. Staten Island has a couple of Filipino restaurants that I had never tried. I visited a restaurant that had many take-away Philippine dishes as well as Filipino groceries. See my reaction as I try Pancit Bihon for the first time, along with Kutsinta (cuchinta) a popular Filipino dessert of steamed rice cake.  I also react to dilis (crispy fried anchovies). To drink, I had Calamansi juice, a type of Filipino citrus. Staten Island is only a short bus or ferry from Manhattan but there are unique Pinoy foods and warm people there willing to welcome anyone who wants to experience Filipino cuisine.
