'Replanting fall food plots in Mid October due to severe drought! Will this work?'

'Southern Illinois-Oct 12, 2022 All of my fall food plots for deer have been destroyed by a record setting severe drought here in the Southern Midwest. But I DON\'T intend on giving up! So, here we are, mid October, what can be done to try to salvage this situation? Well, for starters, cereal grains will germinate and grow all fall and winter as long as you get them to germinate. So I will be tilling up several of my fall food plots with my Kioti RX7320 and my Rhino HD tiller, and I will also give them a shot of nitrogen fertilizer. But on top of that I will also add a mix of brassica\'s radishes and clovers as well. The clovers will grow throughout the fall and winter, and the brassicas may do nothing, or they may still grow to 4 to 6 inches, all depending on the rain and weather. Since the weather has been kind of crazy lately, I\'ll take the chance and give it a try. After all, what is the other \'food plot\' option? We can\'t feed here in Illinois so corn feeders are out of the question. Also, at least for ONE of my newly planted fall food plots I have set up my high volume water pump so that I can hopefully nurse at least ONE food plot here late in the game!
