'Volunteers with the humanitarian aid group No More Deaths have been venturing into the harsh Sonoran Desert for years to leave water, food and other life-saving supplies for migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. They have faced resistance from Customs and Border Patrol officers, who often destroy the aid when they find it, and No More Deaths volunteer Scott Warren currently faces federal charges for the alleged crimes of providing food, water and shelter to migrants. Democracy Now! accompanied a group of volunteers on a recent water drop where they explained their process of leaving gallons of water decorated with messages to give strength to migrants making the perilous journey. #DemocracyNow Democracy Now! is an independent global news hour that airs on nearly 1,400 TV and radio stations Monday through Friday.
