'This is the first episode for the new Singapore Hawker Food series. For this series, we will be visiting various Singapore Hawker Centres to discover the different Singapore halal food being sold at these hawker centres. In this video, we share with you our visit to Ching Boon Market and explore the halal food options here. Chong Boon Market is a hawker centre located in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10. It is nestled among the shops in a neighbourhood town centre kind of settings. There are only 2 stalls in the hawker centre that sells halal food. They are Azizi Muslim Food and the popular Rahim Muslim Food. Azizi Muslim Food sells traditional Malay fares like Mee Siam, Lontong and Nasi Campur. We had chosen to try out the Mee Siam ($3) from Azizi. As for Rahim Muslim Food, we got ourselves their legendary Mee Rebus. We went for the Super Special Mee Rebus ($6) which we had wanted to try for quite sometime. Follow us on our journey to the hawker centres in this inaugural episode of Singapore Hawker Food. In the old days, this was from a roadside stall or a pushcart. These days, hawkers can be found in coffee shops, hawker centres, and food courts (air-conditioned hawker centres). Hawkers usually specialise in a particular cuisine, sometimes in just one dish.
